Introduction to ski touring

Take your first steps into ski touring with a half-day introduction in the ski area. An accessible experience where you can get to grips with the equipment, learn the basic techniques and enjoy the scenery of Serre Chevalier Chantemerle!

Typical itinerary

Meet in front of the esf office in Chantemerle at 09:00 and take the Ratier gondola. You will have time to get to know the ski touring and safety equipment before taking your first steps on climbing skins. Your instructor will teach you the essential uphill techniques while introducing you to the wildlife of the larch forest. For the descent, you can ski on-piste or, if you prefer, alongside the piste for your first taste of off-piste skiing.

Weather and snow conditions may affect the outing. If conditions are unsuitable, the itinerary will be adapted accordingly.
